Clean Port has ruined my wife’s winter coat. We brought it in to be dry-cleaned, and now there’s a big horizontal slash on the back, and the lining has been torn from top to bottom. Clean Port refuses to accept any responsibility. I’ve complained to the Better Business Bureau, but I’m not at all hopeful. Clean Port has another store, at Broadway and 102nd Street, and the Better Business Bureau has given it an F rating for failing to respond to complaints. My only other option is to tell my credit card company not to pay the charge for the dry cleaning. That will save $22, but the cost of a new winter coat for my wife will be much more. Update: Clean Port has replied to the Better Business Bureau regarding my complaint: “Customer coat was a ok when she picked up time. Nothing wrong on her coat condition.” This is a lie. The people my wife and I spoke to never denied the damage. They just claimed they weren’t responsible for it.

Awful and Painful service!!!! We send them our brown blinds to fix and got purple cords with the blinds back. Clearly, they don't care. When we asked them, they even lied that our cords were purple. After the second time pick up, they disappeared for a week till we emailed them. Their answer was they need to send cords to get our approve. Question is why don't they sent earlier? Then, they ask us go to their store to see the cords after disappearing two weeks . Clearly, they didn't do our work and try to get more time. Don't go there. It's painful to work with them!!!! Go somewhere else if you have other better choice!!

Cotta Wine Bar has emerged as one of the cheapest places around. Not cheap in terms of inexpensive, cheap in terms of skimping on wine and food. If you want a glass of wine which is about half the size of any of the other wine bars in the area, this place is for you. The blond bartender pours next to nothing in your glass and has no issues with this. Food is no bargain. The scene is deceiving as people still seem to flock to Bar Cotta, but that won't last for long once their scam catches on. Avoid Bar Cotta ... or, at the very least, give them some pressure about pouring a real glass of wine when you visit!

I had dinner last night at Vai Restaurant at 429 Amsterdam (between 80th & 81st). The hamachi and yellowfin tuna appetizer is completely unbelievable. A ginger sauce, avocado and a hint of jalapeño put it over the top! Ask for a spoon to get the full delicious effect. For entree, I had a pork chop and broccolini as a side dish. The pork chop was tender and tasty with a sweet sauce that really brought out the flavor, and the broccolini was perfectly cooked. The atmosphere is perfect for a small group, a date or dining alone at the bar. Good vibe music, a nice dimly lit room and open feel really gets it done. My appetizer was $15, but my glass of cab was only $9 (and wasn't cheaply "measured" like so many other restaurants seem to be doing these days). My entree was under $20, but I had to pay extra for the side of broccolini which brought the entree cost to more than $25. Overall, the prices are somewhat steep at Vai, but it's absolutely worth it.

Firehouse is a good local hangout with decent bar food. The regular wings, boneless wings and burgers aren't bad. Don't order their wine, however, it's awful. The bartenders make good drinks, although from time to time they can be a little standoffish. The crowd can get a little rowdy, so don't come into Firehouse with a chip on your shoulder.

Absolutely horrendous service. The food is cheap diner food that one can get for half the price at Tom's diner two blocks up the street, with much much much better service. In other words the food isn't very good and you also have the pleasure of dining with the flies that surround this small restaurant. The manager is a brute that kicks people out as soon as they've paid their bill. You want to enjoy an after breakfast coffee while you read the paper??? NOT HERE. Avoid at all costs.

I had dinner at the bar last night at Atlantic Grill. The bar area is an elegant, dimly lit area, which is comfortably large with upbeat background music and televisions. The open design at Atlantic Grill allows for a view of the entire restaurant. Oysters are $1.50 after 9:30pm and were cold, fresh and delicious. My filet mignon was perfectly cooked and two glasses of cabernet were nice full pours and an excellent complement to my meal. Atlantic Grill is a great place to meet for a drink or dinner and is highly recommended. One additional point to note: they stop taking food orders at 10:00pm.

I enjoyed a late night dinner with a good friend last night at Cassis. Our escargot, her salad and my Steak Au Poivre were all perfect. The service was good, our outdoor seating was nice and wine pours were plentiful. I'll be back, although I'd like to seem them clean up the kitchen per the DOH.

I just attended a private Shabbat dinner function at Talia's Steakhouse, and it was perfect. I had never been there before, and I was certainly impressed. I had been to Darna for pre-paid Shabbat before and all I have to say is Talia's made them look like amateurs. Highly recommended!
